Our Dearest Aunt Lucretia,
I remember always having plenty of laughs with you around the family table. On every occasion since I was a little girl you were always there joining our family. I called you "Aunt" not out of respect but because I truly felt in my heart that you were our Aunt. I will always remember you telling me how much you liked Jimmy and the laughs we use to have when you would jokingly hit him with your cane. We loved how much you always cared about what was going on in our lives like a true Aunt would. We have endless amount of wonderful memories with you that I know we will have for a lifetime. You will forever be in our hearts. Thank you for being apart of our family. We will always miss and love you.
Love you always,
Bianca & Jimmy

Dearest Aunt Lucretia,
As far back as I can remember as a little girl you have always been in our lives. You were always called "Aunt Lucretia" because we felt like you were a part of our family and because you were such a precious and dear childhood friend to our Aunt Lydia. You were always at our celebrations and holidays for the last couple of years. Wherever you were we made sure you were with us. You were a very special person in our lives and we will cherish the times and memories that we had with you. Your smile, your laughter and your beautiful blue eyes. The memory of you will live in our hearts forever. You are home now with our Lord where you belong.
May your soul be at peace our beloved "Aunt Lucretia".
With All the Love In Our Hearts,
Karen & Tony
Joanna, Bianca, Daniella
Tiana and Anthony Jr.
So glad I told you I loved you!

To all the long time friends and family, I regret that I could not be with you to honor the memory of my friend.
After knowing Lucretia for a short period of time, she volunteered to assist me to resolve a crucial issue in my life. This was typical of her generous, caring being,
Her vast knowledge of politics and current events was impressive. We shared many spirited discussions on the events of the day. Although we often disagreed, these discussion never failed to hold my attention and interest. Lucretia was passionate about her country, her enduring friendships some since childhood and her work on the police force.
As one of first women who entered the police department, I admired her tenacity and determination to succeed in an occupation that was less than welcoming to woman. Long before it became fashionable. she was a strong independent woman who will missed by many.

My dear friend I miss you so much my heart was broken the day you left me. I see your house every day Ithink about that beautiful smile and the sparkle in your eyes. We had so much in common, humor, music and of course politics. We were going to go to the Long Island aquarium this Summer. We were going to shop for bedroom furniture.
We laughed and cried together. I have a hole in my heart and it hurts so much without my friend Lu. All my love, Dar

It makes our hearts feel good to know that we were always there for you, the way you were for us. Like the song says "That's what friends are for, in good times and bad times we'll be on your side forever more, that's what friends are for". Lucretia you will never, ever be forgotten.
Love you always.

Ode to a Neighbor & Friend Lu
A candle has blown out
that cannot be relit.
Petals have fallen from daisies
that cannot be replaced.
These are our emotions felt
when we learned of your goodbye.
A kind heart with a warm smile,
A sweet lady with a neighborly hello.
A kind friend lucky to have known.
We will never see her again,
Lucretia will always be remembered.
When candles glow in our night darkness,
Daisies grow in our gardens,
Strangers smile from a far, or
new friends greets us in first hellos.
The Wahls

Lu, it was always a pleasure working track meets with you. I will think of you whenever I see the cloisonne piglets and the Lenox hearts that you gave me - they are on my mantle - and I see them every day. Your smile, laugh and generous nature will be greatly missed. I am so glad that Doris introduced us and I got to know you even if only for a short while! Be at peace. --- Linetta

Our Dear Lucretia,
I cannot put into words the sadness I feel over losing you. The world has lost one of the biggest hearted people I have ever known. What a lucky girl I was to have aunts like you and Bubi. You were both such a huge part of my life. We still laugh over the marshmallow fights we always had leaving your house. Mike never understood how I could talk to two people at once. But you, Bubi and I would have three way conversations that were always interesting, often hilarious and usually lasted for hours. I cannot begin to explain how generous you were with me. From funding my fare home from Albany U, to my wedding favors, my china and even the dishes I use today.
Then came my children. Oh, how they would walk into a room FULL of toys just for them, and just…because. It was like Christmas every time they saw you. And the Beanie Baby hunts! You would hide those things all over the house for the boys to find. We would leave with bags of those things.
Please know this…every holiday, whether it be Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, the Aug/Sept or Dec/Jan Birthdays, there will be an empty place at our table and in our hearts. My mother says there are only a small number of people in the world that love you unconditionally. And it is with a tear in my eye that I say I have lost one of those people. We will love you always and may God Forever Bless You.
