Obituary of Victor G. Werny

Victor G. Werny, 76 years old, of Williston Park, New York, died peacefully at his home on June 6, 2019. Vic was a proud firefighter for the New York City Fire Department for 30 years, and retired in 1999. Although retired, Vic answered the call of 9/11 and responded to help at the World Trade Center with other retired firefighters.  Vic was quick with a story, a helping hand and words of wisdom. He loved working with his hands, gardening and sharing his tomatoes with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who derived great pleasure spending time with his family, friends and garage. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, of 53 years. He was a loving father to his son Vic and wife Lisa, and his son Keith and wife Sandy. He was a cherished grandfather to VJ, Matthew, Brianna and Amanda.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 8th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, and Sunday, June 9th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm with a service at 7:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
