John I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I came across her page as I was editing my mom’s memorial page. Your mom was always such a good friend to our family. She was a wonderful person. I am so sad at her loss.

I knew Rose many years before my wife and children did. First Grade with John is when we became friends and when I was able to begin a relationship with Rose. I spent a lot of time at John's house, some of which got us in trouble. Over the years I have realized the wisdom and gentleness this beautiful Woman had to offer. She always trusted me to get John home (little did she know, but I did). Later in life she planned our honeymoon. Everywhere we looked she left bottles of Champagne! As she always did she accepted my wife and later my family like her own. My wife always felt so comfortable with her and always said how she admired her. I guess you could go on and on. Needless to say I feel very lucky to have known her and to be part of her family, in a sense. Though I don't think I ever told her she was my second mother especially later in my life. Death usually brings sadness but I don't think she would have wanted it that way. She went about her life on earth always giving, always accepting. And finally the time was right for her to return to her maker, the one she always worshiped and prayed to.
What we need to take away from her passing is not sadness but the lesson she constantly espoused, be forgiving, be accepting and loving. Practice that everyday, as she did, that is what she would have wanted. The body is just a vessel, her spirit will live on for all of us. May she rest in peace and begin her new journal at the right hand of God.

Dear family of Rose,
I send my deepest sympathies and prayerful support at this sad time. Rose was a wonderful light in our community. Her smile and caring heart lit many lives. I first met Rose through Catholic Charities and found we were neighbors. I know she will be missed by many.
Sincerely, Maryann Dantuono
