Obituary of Eileen Mary Ralph

Eileen M. Ralph,  (nee Buckley) died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family on November 17th, 2021 after a brief illness at the age of 89.

Eileen was the daughter of Irish immigrants, Leo and May Buckley, born February 11,1932  in Bronx, NY.  Parishioners of St. Simon Stock Church, Eileen grew up in the Bronx with her parents and brother, William, until she married William J. Ralph and moved to  Bayside, Queens. They subsequently moved to Williston Park N.Y  where they raised their two children, Brian and Patrice and joined St. Aidan's Church.

At St. Aidan's, where both children attended elementary school, Eileen was a member of the Rosary Society, and a parish supporter for over 20 years. It was here that Eileen forged lifelong friendships that she maintained until her passing.   Many nights were spent on the front steps of their home chatting with friends, strengthening these ties.

Retiring to Deerfield Beach, FL, Eileen made many new friends while never losing touch with old friends in the Bronx and Williston Park. Bill and Eileen loved to travel and entertain.  Eileen especially loved the beach and chatting with friends poolside.

After 53 years of marriage, and Bill's passing, Eileen remained in Florida until moving to Durham NC to live with family.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband William J Ralph, mother May Buckley, father Leo Buckley, and brother Buddy Buckley,  She is survived by her two children Patrice & Brian, her five grandchildren Ashley, Danielle, Taylor, Penelope, William, and her two great grandchildren Nora, Ellie. Eileen will be remembered for her love of God, her Irish Heritage, her flair for storytelling, her rich sense of humor, her daily contact with friends and family. She loved dining out, especially with a good dessert! She enriched the lives she touched, and will be deeply and dearly missed.
