Obituary of Meghan Colleen Hughes
Hughes, Meghan Colleen passed away last week at the much too young age of 26. She was a sweet and sensitive, beautiful girl with the most amazing brown eyes and a laugh that filled up a room. Her heart was full of joy and she loved to share it with her friends and family. Meghan grew up in Locust Valley and attended Greenvale and Locust Valley High School and graduated from Fairfield University in 2017 with a degree in business. She spent summers in Westhampton Beach and Nantucket. Her passions were fashion, restaurants, and fun but her main love was her Family. Meghan is survived by her parents, Gregory F. Hughes and Colleen O’Brien Corcoran, stepfather Thomas Corcoran, her grandparents, James P. and Grace Hughes and Mary V. O’Brien and the late Michael J. (Pop Pop) O’Brien and her 2 sisters Colette and Ashleen. Meghan adored her 2 sisters, Ashleen and Colette and loved them beyond the Three of a Kind. The circle of many loving aunts and uncles and cousins will feel her absence at every birthday, holiday and missed phone call. Meghan tried to think of everything that would make someone happy and she was good at it. This unexpected passing will leave a big hole in our hearts, one that she would want us to fill with love and laughter and to try to make others happy too. Please join us this Thursday and Friday to celebrate the life of Meghan Hughes. We are hosting a wake Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Weigand Brothers Funeral Home located at 49 Hillside Avenue in Williston Park, New York 11596.
