Obituary of Joseph L Parendo

Parendo Joseph L. Passed Sept. 18, 2012 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born and lived his entire life in Mineola leaving only once to serve in the Army Air Corps. in England during WWII. When he returned he went to work for Lilco as an overhead linemen he married Harriette Monteith Gerstner. They remained married for 64 years until his beloved Hattie passed on March 2, 2011. A loving soft spoken man who loved being with his family is survived by his children William Gerstner wife Kay, Alicia Parendo, Michelle Pagano, Mark Parendo wife Patty. His grandchildren Norbert Gerstner, Jennifer Hicks husband Billy, Susan Del Torro husband Victor, Eric Gerstner wife Sherri, Christine Gerstner, Keith Parendo wife Jennifer, Joseph Pagano wife Kristin, Merissa Rzonca husband Jon Kristian, Elizabeth Bartscherer & Jay Bartscherer. His 13 great-grandchildren. He will be waked at the Weigand Bros FH in Williston Park on Thursday Sept. 20, 2012 2PM to 4PM & 7PM to 9PM. The funeral Mass will be on Friday Sept 21, 2012 at 1 PM St. Aidan's Church in Williston Park. Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury
