Obituary of Mary Mone

Mary Catherine Mone passed away at 98 years old on December 2, 2022.  She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Mone, children Mary Kathleen Dorney, Elizabeth Quinn and Thomas Mone, as well as son-in-laws John (Jack) Fleming and Colin Dorney. She is survived by her daughters Claire Meci and Eileen Fleming and sons-in-law James Meci and Brian Quinn, along with their families including 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mary was born in Brooklyn and raised her family there until moving to Hicksville, NY and finally to Albertson, NY. She was a devout Catholic and could be found attending mass every Sunday at St. Ignatious in Hicksville or St. Aidan in Williston Park. Though she never got her driver’s license, she loved to travel around town by bus or with family by car to go shopping, visit relatives/friends or go out for a bite to eat. What she enjoyed most was being surrounded by those who loved her. She will be dearly missed.
