Dearest Naomi, Laura, Brian, Jim and Family,
Cheryl you will be greatly missed. You were always a breath of fresh air with your wonderful smile, warmth and kindness which you constantly shown to our family throughout the years.
Our first meeting with you was at HMS. You were always kind, polite, beautiful and professional, approachable and attentive to our family and our needs while our children attended the middle school. We came to know you by the frequent times we were dropping off forgotten items, having meetings and just helping us navigate through HMS and you always kept us calm and informed. Unbeknownst to us, you were our sweet and Dear Naomi’s grandmother which was finally pointed out to us much later on.
We are thankful that we were able to know you on a more personal level especially watching Naomi and Christian joining together and watching their relationship grow. You were always welcoming and nice to us as we would see each other more often. I enjoyed our many discussions about life, family and the wisdom you put upon us. I also enjoyed our book discussions.
May God bless you and keep you in his care and may Our Lord bring comfort and strength to your wonderful family. Rest in Peace Cheryl, until we meet again sweet woman.
With our deepest sympathy and love,
The Theodoropoulos Family

Dear Cheryl was our neighbor for many years. When our children were young we spent many days together ❤️ She was a wonderful friend and our children are close to this day. She raised two fantastic human beings, Brian and Laura. Our deepest sympathy for them and her beautiful grandchildren. We will miss her. May she rest in peace on heaven.

Cheryl was literally one in a million! I have many fond memories of our HMS days together, and she ALWAYS entertained us at our occasional lunches. Your posted picture shows it all - a bright and shining star that will be missed. I send my sincerest condolences to her family and hope you can take some comfort in knowing that she adored and was very proud of you. I hope to see you again, Cheryl, because if I do, I know I’ll be in the right place. Rest in Peace my friend.

I first met Cheryl in the Herricks Middle School, when I taught Music there. I never knew that she lived just around the corner from me. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met. She was always kind and would stop and talk to me. I will miss her smiling face. So sorry for your loss.
My deepest sympathy to the family,
Carol Buzzeo

Cheryl Kelly of Williston Park passed Saturday night peacefully surrounded by immediate family after corageously fighting cancer for many years in such a way where her loved ones would never know she was sick.
Spouse of Jim Kelly. Loving mother to Brian and Laura. Caring Mother-in-law to Maria & Tony. Amazing Grandmother to Naomi, Daniel, Skylar, Sofia, Jonathan and Alessandra. Beloved sister to Roy.
Cheryl was born in Jamaica, Queens to Hugo & Elsie Berberich and grew up in Bellerose, NY.
Cheryl graduated from Martin Van Buren High School and worked in the corporate office of Howard Johnson’s, as a stewardess for Seaboard Airlines and ultimately retired from her clerical role at Herricks Middle School to spend more time with her family.
Cheryl will be remembered as a wonderful, kind, caring woman who spread joy and happiness to all. She was always filled with positive energy, incredible spirit, loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor.
She will be especially missed by her family who cherished the vacations to Sunny Hill, Woodloch, Montauk and the Caribbean with her. She brightened all holidays & family celebrations, making each one incredibly special and filled with love and happiness.
Please let her love & kindness continue by sharing any special thoughts and memories of Cheryl on the Tribute Wall.
