Obituary of Mickey Masterson

Julia “Mickey” Masterson (1931-2023) passed away on February 25th peacefully surrounded by her family. Mickey was born in Brooklyn NY (Holy Innocents Parish) to George and Julia Van Pelt. She raised her family in Cambria Heights NY (Sacred Heart Parish) then moved to East Williston NY (St Aidan Parish) for the final fifty-one years of her life. She worked for Nassau Community College for forty plus years retiring at age 85. Throughout her life Mickey was sustained by her great faith in God, her love of Jesus and the Blessed Mother. She truly loved and lived her Catholic faith. 

She is survived by her son Scott and spouse Donna, son James, son Douglas and his partner Maureen; daughter in law Lisa Markowitz; her grandchildren Katie and her spouse Brent, Krista, Sarah and her fiancé Andrew, & Erin Grace; her great grandchildren Ben & JoJo. She is predeceased by her husband James, sister Georgiana & beloved daughter Debbie.

A celebration of life will take place at Weigand Brothers Funeral Home in Williston Park, NY on Wednesday March 1, 2023 from 4-8pm and a funeral Mass at Saint Aidan on March 2,2023 in Williston Park, NY at 10am.
