Obituary of Patricia A. Blainey
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia A. Blainey.
Pat was born on September 28th, 1944 to her parents, John and Vivien Harned of Mineola. She was the second of three children. She spent most of her life in Mineola and Williston Park. Her first job as a 15 year old was working at the Mineola Memorial Library. Following a brief break, she spent more than 30 years working for the Mineola School District, both in the library at Mineola High School and in the Business Office as an account clerk.
Pat enjoyed reading, watching sports and having a spirited political debate at the dinner table. She loved watching The Mets, Giants and the Rangers, but she would watch any New York team, except the Yankees. She was a fiercely loyal friend, and loved nothing better than spending time with “the girls”.
Pat’s greatest joy was her time spent with her grandchildren, Jim, Christian, Emma and Henry. She made sure she had their favorite snacks, and the perfect Christmas present.
Pat is survived by her children, Kathie Aguayo (husband Jose) and Christine Zelle (husband Chris). She leaves behind many close friends, all of whom are sharing and supporting us through our grief.
