I wish I had more time to spend with Great Gma Mary. She had been a real ray of sunshine, so friendly and welcoming. She made me immediately feel like a part of the family.
We are very lucky that she could be with us to celebrate our wedding - it meant the world having her here and it shows how much she cared!
I will forever treasure the blankets she knitted for us and especially the white garment for Vincent when he was born that has since witnessed Vincent’s, mine and Anna’s baptism! We are sad she never got to meet our little Anna but we know how much she loved her photo updates, always responding with a big heart and her “GOD BLESS”. I hope it made her happy to see her in the beautiful baptismal gown she sent for her.
Vincent loves to play with the old phone and so I often hear her voice messages play on repeat. I must say I love it. What a beautiful way to remember her!
She was also very welcoming to my parents whom she met for the first time at our wedding. I believe she was learning some Czech phrases too! My parents loved her too even though they couldn’t really have a real conversation - that speaks volumes… her love and kindness didn’t need words, it just radiated.
God Bless her soul, may she rest in peace. She will be loved and remembered forever.

Mary McNulty was a force of nature. She was our Dad's cousin and also his Godmother. She seemed to be able to remember names, birthdays, important family events, stories of old, recent news items, historical facts and everyone's diary entries as well as her own! How she co-ordinated the lot of us we'll never know! She told us her mantra at Mairéad's wedding; "Faith, Family and Friends!" and she certainly lived by that.
Mary would refer to Eilís when she needed her written Gaeilge (Irish) checked. She had had some of her schooling through Irish and they had lively debates about it's status as a living/dead language! Neither of these women liked to be wrong but they found a common ground in love of country, of people, traditions and each other.
The birth of a baby was always a huge joy for Mary. Before long personal gifts would be winging their way to the new child, always well-chosen (thanks Brigid) and not necessarily posted but sent along in someone's suitcase with anyone crossing the Atlantic, generous to a fault. Jackie Cunnane, we'll always hang onto the cozy blankets! She must have been knitting around the clock!
Mary loved nothing more than a family get-together. Through her we have gotten to know her wonderful family and have been at many a hooley. We look forward to many more get-togethers in times to come. We think she'd be glad to know that her funeral mass will be broadcast online and that her many relations and friends can tune in from afar as she was a whizz with the technology herself. Dearbhla likened her Grace O'Malley, Constance Markievicz and Mary Robinson, amazing female warriors!
What an ambassador to Ireland she was and what a wonderful life she lived.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
May she rest in peace.
Grá mór,
Dearbhla, Eilís, Seán and Mairéad King

Our condolences to Norah, Carmel, Brigid, Rita and your families on the passing of your mother/G'ma.
Tony has been very proud to have had his Godmother in his life for so many years. Mary was indeed a leading light. She was always so welcoming and made everyone feel like a VIP! She knew everyone through the generations and took a huge interest in people.
She had a scéal, a query or a list of questions requiring detailed answers every couple of weeks when she phoned Knock. Her most recent one was during the novena this August when she needed to know who was the solo violinist on a particular night!
We'll miss her greatly. She was one of a kind.
May she rest in peace, Amen.

All our love to Norah, Carmel, Brigid and Rita and all of the extended family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this very sad and difficult time. Mary was a wonderful lady. We will remember her for her kindness, warmth and generosity always. We loved having her visit us on one of her visits home to Ireland some years ago. She arrived with bags of treats for the children and beautiful hand made scarves. We cherish the beautiful hand knit blankets that arrived soon after each child was born. Always lovely to snuggle on cold night while watching tv. It was lovely to visit Mary in March this year. She was in great spirits, her home decorated for St Patricks Day and a huge spread to ensure we were well fed before we left. Lovely memories!
She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.....May she rest in peace.

From Bridie Cullinane,
Sincere condolences to Norah, Carmel, Brigid, Rita, Sons-in-law, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren on the death of Mary. I lived in Dublin for all of my career and only got to meet Mary again in Knock on one of her visits to Ireland. Since then, all of our family have had the privilege of meeting Mary whenever she visited Mayo. She was a wonderful conversationalist with a fantastic memory and great sense of humour. She helped me fill in a lot of the "gaps" on our Family Tree. Mary was a very special cousin, warm, kindhearted and loyal. I will miss her whats app and video calls. Rest in peace, Mary.
