My dear Anthony, the only person to talk more than me. You had the best stories, the best advice but also the best heart. You were my best friend/mentor/superhero. Almost 20 years of true unconditional love. The best godfather to the babies. The most devout father & husband. The most loving & non judgmental human to walk the earth & now heaven. Uncle Tony our hearts are shattered to pieces but we know how much you needed MaryRose, please give her big hugs & kisses from us. We will honor you & love you forever!

Tony told stories—law stories, MaryRose stories, son stories, hospital stories, Lions club stories—all the people he knew lived before your eyes as you listened. He loved and cared for all whom he encountered. I have not known Tony long; Miss Paisley brought Tony into my life. Still, I will miss him. He lived nobly: loyal to his friends, generous without end, and intent upon making everyone whose life he touched better. While I am sure he is overjoyed to be with his Mary Rose again, I will miss him.

Tony and I were classmates at Hofstra Law School, where we both were members of Phi Alpha Delta and helped lead the committee that established the PAD chapter's first "Barristers' Ball". Back then, we could occasionally be found "decompressing" by singing some songs together on breaks between classes. After graduation - we would sometimes be respectful opponents when I was an Assistant D.A. and Tony was with Legal Aid. He was gracious enough to help my mother with a legal matter that I could not represent her on, when I was still with the D.A.'s office. Tony was a wonderful guy - always willing to help out and was the consummate, gregarious attorney. He was a great lawyer. Tony was always passionate about anything he was involved with and loved his family intensely. Unfortunately, we had not kept in close touch since I left Long Island - but I have fond memories of our time together as students and young lawyers. Rest in Peace, my friend. We we are not related, although we share a similar last name. I met Tony at a bar association function NYSACDL, and we stayed in touch over the years. He impressed me as a knowledgeable guy who fought for his clients, and at the same time he was a down-to-earth guy dedicated to his family. His death is truly a great loss to his professional colleagues, his community, and most of all, to his sons. However, I believe that he is with his wife now, and that must be a joyous reunion.
RIP, my friend
Joe "the other" Calluori
