Obituary of Joseph J. Haddock
Joe (Joseph) Haddock, peacefully passed away on December 6, 2023, at the age of 85 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 19, 1938, in Queens, New York to John and Mary Haddock (née Vorhinger). Joe was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Joe is survived by his beautiful bride of almost 60 years, Patricia Haddock (Pat) née Hurlburt. He will be deeply missed by his children, Jacqueline (Jackie) Cara, Patricia (Trish) Moran (Timothy), and Joseph (Joe) Haddock, Jr. (Zenobia). Joe was the proud grandfather of Rachel, Tristen, Isabel, Macintyre, Aidan, Madigan, Adam, Sarah, and Aubrey, the lights of his life. He was a devoted brother to John Haddock and Mary Gray, and his sister in law, Phyllis. Joe also leaves behind his nephews, Steven and John (David) Haddock.
Joe attended Franklin K. Lane High School and later pursued higher education at St. Francis. He served in the Navy, proudly dedicating his time to military service, being honorably discharged in February, 1962.
Following his military service, Joe had a successful career as a Local 3 Electrician until his retirement. He was known for his expertise and dedication to his craft.
In his free time, Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, tinkering with and fixing things, especially his home and indulging in his love for antiques. He also had a passion for world travel, exploring new places, and experiencing different cultures. Joe had a sweet tooth for black licorice and peanut brittle, and he cherished his Cadillac.
A wake will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm at Weigand Brothers Funeral Home located at 49 Hillside Avenue, Williston Park, NY. On Monday, December 11, 2023, a funeral mass will take place at 10:45 am at St. Gregory the Great Church, 242-20 88th Ave, Queens, NY 11426.

Joe will be remembered for his love for his family, his quiet wit and his magical powers with babies and animals. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.
