Obituary of Andrew Gyves

Andrew Gyves, 53, of Park Slope, Brooklyn, passed away on Thursday April 25^th, 2024. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his daughter: Josie, parents William and Kathleen Gyves, sister Christine and brother-in-law Patrick, sister Jennifer and brother-in-law Joseph, nieces, and nephews: Lindsey, Matthew, Joseph, James, Laura, Grace, and Peter.

 

Andy was born in Mineola, New York on February 18^th, 1971. He attended high school in Mineola before proceeding to obtain an undergraduate degree from Hofstra University. Upon graduation he began a career as an accountant, then segued to a career most consistent with his values of service as a Teacher. He left his mark upon numerous communities as his classroom of third-graders, weekly pool league members, and musical circles. His greatest and most enduring achievement is his daughter Josie, who he loved dearly.

 

Wake services will be held on Thursday May 2^nd from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Services will be held at St. Aidans Church on Friday May 3^rd at 11:15am.
