Obituary of James J. Cashin
In Memory of James J. Cashin
1942-2024
On June 4, 1942, James was the first born to the late Patrick and Mary Cashin of Mohill, County Leitrim, Ireland.
James was a good-hearted, hard working, loving, religious man who was always willing to help someone in need. He loved his Irish heritage and enjoyed listening to traditional Irish music and Irish dancing.
A loving husband to Catherine, wonderful father to Cameron, Brian and Lisa and a doting grandfather to Daniel, Fiona, Colin, Devin, Declan and Caitlin. James dedicated himself to his family and was truly a wonderful man. His infectious smile and optimistic good nature endeared him to many.
He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, grandfather, uncle and friend. James is survived by his loving wife, Catherine, with whom he recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, his sister, Maura Claffey and Michael Cashin and was a dear brother to his late siblings Eileen, Matthew and Patrick.
James, battled the last nine years with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. He leaves behind him a legacy of love for his family, lessons in maintaining courage, dignity and grace in the face of overwhelming adversity. He will be missed beyond words.
