Obituary of Gene T. Munger

Gene Munger
December 1st, 1945 - August 14th, 2024

Gene Munger, 78, of Roslyn, NY is survived by his loving wife, Cathleen, who he was married to for 38 years. He also leaves behind his children, Gene Jr., James, Christopher, Keith, Mark (daughter-in-law, Kimberly), Laura (son-in-law, Ryan), and grandchildren, Charli, Alexa, Ryan, and Nicholas.

Gene’s heart was extravagant.  His love for his family knew no limits. Gene loved their family vacations which gave everyone the opportunity to spend quality time together and to make beautiful memories.  A most treasured member of his family was his golden retriever, Ranger.  They were real buddies.  Golden retrievers (Jesse and Scout in years past) captured his heart and like them, he possessed a loyalty that was unsurpassed.

His mind was as beautiful as his heart. Gene could always offer sound and practical advice, but never unsolicited! His advice was always what we needed to hear and we learned so much from him.

He was a humble, gentle, welcoming, generous, loving, kind, calm, funny, and caring man. Gene had a number of interests. He loved the outdoors and was passionate about running, skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, kayaking, tennis, and bike riding.

Gene will always be in our hearts and we aspire to live our lives the way he lived his.
