Obituary of Betty Fuentes
Betty Fuentes, age 87, passed away peacefully the night of September 15 th . Beloved wife of Manuel, father to Teresa and Alice, and grandmother to Kristin, Alyssa, Joseph, Dylan, and Justin. Raised in the Bronx, she was the fourth of five children and worked as a secretary at Eversharp and The Founding Hospital before marriage. After marrying Manuel and having her first child, she stayed at home to take great care of the entire family. She was a very involved mother, volunteering as a girl scout leader and a bus mom on school trips. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and making clothes for her daughter’s Barbie dolls. She loved crosswords and mastered the Sunday NY Times puzzles.
Her loved ones will never forget the Christmas Eves at her house, the extremely generous birthday gifts, watching Game Show Network together during summer breaks, baking hundreds of kruschickis, the laughs shared at the table playing board games, and looking through the silly photos she took on her old film camera. She was a bright, kind, and caring woman who loved her family and will be greatly missed by all.
