Obituary of Brian P. Watts

Brian P. Watts of Vineland NJ passed away on October 23rd, 2024 at the age of 50.

He was the loving son of Eileen and Joseph J. Watts and was born in Little Neck, Queens on February 24th, 1974. He grew up in Willison Park, NY and graduated from Herricks High School in 1992.

Brian fell in love with music at a young age and started playing guitar at 12. Over the last three decades he founded and played in numerous bands and wrote and recorded dozens of songs. He often played live at clubs around Long Island and New York City and was known as a virtuoso guitar player. In addition to being an artist, Brian was also a huge fan of music and movies, and possessed an encyclopedic knowledge that covered a wide range of styles.

On a personal note, Brian was loved by all he met. He was filled with empathy and understanding. He was kind, funny, and was the epitome of cool. The love he had for his mother and his son Brandon was unbounded.

Lastly, Brian was an organ donor, and his heart, liver and kidneys went on to save three lives. As his son said, not all heroes wear capes.

He is survived by his beloved son Brandon, his mother, Eileen, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe, John and Donna, Mike and Jen, Rob and Sonia, Matt and Amy, Jim and Nat, and eight loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Watts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to www.NAMI.org. The Watts family wishes to thank the Gift of Life Donor Program and urges everyone to consider becoming an organ or tissue donor.
