Allison and Danny -
Condolences to you and your family for your loss. Mike was a great guy and a true gentleman. I (Tony) enjoyed coaching with him when our boys played travel baseball together. We had some great times and created some nice memories.
With Deepest Sympathies,
Tony and Teresa Passaretti

I met Mike in the first grade at Incarnation Grammar School. A few things about Mike were clear from the start - he was the smartest guy around (by a long shot), he was the fastest guy around (except for maybe Joe Joe Rafferty), and he was an all around good guy.
Some of my fondest memories with Mike were the Hollis-Bellaire little league years, golfing with the boys after we washed Mr. Sparacino's car, and playing sports all day, every day with the gang.
Looking back, I am sorry I didn’t do a better job of staying in touch with Mike. But whenever we did meet or talk, we were always able to reconnect quickly, as life long friends should. I am sorry Mike was taken from us too quickly. Now more than ever, we need good people like Mike in this world. And Mike is still the smartest guy I know (by a long shot).

You never forget a great teammate. That was Mike Sparacino. Ace pitcher, ace hitter, handsome, smart as hell….the whole package. What I remember most is that Mike was always grinning. That attitude rubbed off on all of us. RIP old friend.

I am sorry to hear that Mike has passed away. He was a great baseball player in the Hollis-Bellaire-Queens Village Little League. We played against each other many times then teamed up to win the New York City Senior League championship when we were 15 years old. After that, we became teammates at Archbishop Molloy High School and won another CHSAA city championship. I wish his family well.

I’ve known Michael since before he was in his teens, and I’ve always enjoyed so many things about him. His sense of humor, his love (like mine) of baseball, especially the Yankees, his enjoyment of music, golf, and his amazing brain power. One interesting memory and example of Michael’s brilliant mind: On a United Airlines flight to Hawaii many years ago, they had a contest where passengers had to figure out what time the flight would reach the halfway point. Michael did some calculating - and soon was awarded a bottle of champagne along with comments from the pilot that he was the closest anyone had ever come with his “guess.”
We played many chess games, quite a few by mail, and I can’t recall winning too many. OK, probably none. We recently chatted baseball, of course, thinking it was the Yankees year - finally. I have to say that he did the best Elvis Presley I’ve ever heard. I’d love to see him do “All Shook Up” again.

My brother Michael was an extraordinary person in so many ways. He was brilliant, clever, athletic, kind, and generous. He made our parents, Mary and Mike Sparacino, so proud of his achievements. His baseball talent was special to our father who coached every Little League team Michael played on. Those were some of our father’s happiest times. Michael continued that family tradition by his involvement in his son Danny’s Little League career. I loved reading his cleverly written Garden City Little League newsletters -- another example of my brother’s creative talent. Michael’s lifelong friends undoubtedly know, perhaps better than anyone, his sly sense of humor, loyalty, and kindness.
I’ll miss being able to call him with challenging brain teasers or crossword puzzle questions. He always had the answers - he was so smart! I know he’ll be missed by more people than I can think of, and my sister Jean and I will be among them. Rest in peace, Michael.

There are no words to express our deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved husband/father. Mike was a very kind & gentle man who also had an amazing singing voice (Ed greatly admire it!). We had the pleasure of spending several holidays with him & will always remember them fondly. Thank you Allison for making that happen.
Please know we are thinking of you & Danny so very much especially during this most difficult time.
Sincerely with love & our deepest condolences,

Michael was a wonderful and dedicated son to our parents, Mary and Mike Sparacino. He was much loved and admired by his sisters, Pat and myself.
When our father needed his support in his last days and when I needed his help during my pregnancy with my daughter Nina, his godchild, Michael was there. His quiet manner belied his quick wit and sense of humor. He was truly an athlete and a scholar. By far his proudest accomplishment was his son, Danny.
I love you Mike and pray you rest in peace with mom and dad.
