Obituary of Bernadette Burns

Bernadette Burns passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, the 5th child of the 10 born to Cuthbert and Eileen Dutton.

She was the devoted wife of Gerard G. Burns for 31 years, before his death in May 2004. They married in 1973 and settled in Williston Park in October 1980. She worked for Roslyn Public Schools for many years, before retiring in 2003.

Beloved mother of Joanne Manopella (Joseph) and Jennifer Greco (Nicholas). Adoring grandmother to Michael, Elena, Matthew, Nicholas and Brianna. A devoted fan to both the Mets and Islanders, she also enjoyed socializing with friends, playing cards, visiting Atlantic City and traveling.

Loved ones are invited to visit the family on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 2:00 - 5:00PM and 7:00 - 9:00PM. Funeral services will be held at The Church of St. Aidan on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 10:00AM. A burial will follow at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port Washington, where she will be laid to rest with her loving husband.
