Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anderson, Mary June, known throughout her life as June, died peacefully on December 11, 2010. June was born on June 28, 1921 of Paul and Bertha Hickey, who predeceased her as did her brother Paul. She was also predeceased by her beloved husband and companion Arthur E. Anderson, who she married on August 12, 1944 and was blessed with his love and devotion for nearly 60 years thereafter. June is survived by her son Arthur P. Anderson and her daughter Linda E. Ward, by granddaughters Christine Tarone, Megan Maggio and her husband Christopher, Virginia McCloskey and her husband Michael, and Katherine Slatkey and her husband Edward, Mary Michaelak and her husband Arthur, Alyssa Anderson. She is also survived by great grandchildren Mary Beth Mulligan, Angelina Tarone, Nicholas Tarone, Elise Maggio, Kayla Rose Maggio, James Maggio, Samantha June McCloskey, Sophie Slatkey and a soon to be born baby Slatkey. June lived in the same house in Williston Park since 1949, where she was a member of St Aidan's parish and she loved her summer home in Bridgton, Maine. She was strong and energetic. She was never content with things the way they were but was always making improvements to her homes. She had wit, charm and kindliness to allow her to make lifelong friends wherever she went. You could always count on her to give needed advice whether it was baking an apple pie or installing a light fixture. June found adventures wherever she went often bringing others involuntarily with her. A trip to the grocery store with June driving was an adventure. She was always ready to share a laugh or have a good time. If someone had some good in them, she would find it. She will be terribly missed by her two spoiled canine friends who will now have to own-up to their doggy transgressions. June will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Visitation Monday 2-5 and 7-9 pm at Weigand Bros F.H. 49 Hillside Ave., Williston Park, NY. Funeral Mass Tuesday 9:45am St Aidan's Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to VNA Hospice House, 502 Independence Rd., East Stroudsburg, Pa.
