Mom, Not only were you the best mother and grandmother, but you were a best friend. Like Jackie said, we always knew you were there for us no matter what the situation was. We could talk to you about everything and anything. I thank you for all the wonderful memories that I will treasure forever. But most of all I will miss the times we laughed so hard. I love you so very much.
Rest in peace. Peggy

I have truly been blessed to have a grandmother like Nanny. She was caring , thoughtful, and put others first. She has been there for me through the good and bad times. She was more than a grandmother to me. She was my heart. I always enjoyed her stories about her youth. She loved her family so much. I will always have fond memories of Mattituck. I enjoyed spending time with my grandparents there. Oh then there was Tj Maxx. Boy did she love that place. I am glad I had several opportunities to express my love , gratitude , and comments to personal to list on this page as she neared the end. I was in the room looking at my Nanny when she took her last breath. I am glad I could be there to witness a peaceful passing. I will be more at ease that because of that. She has suffered tremendously and I am happy she is in Heaven with Poppy and Billy. I know she is smiling again and will endure no more pain and heartache. Although my heart is broken, I know in time the pain will lessen. I am confident that she will always watch over me and be my angel. I love you Nanny!

I did not have the honor of meeting Ruth Whelen. It was my honor to be the daughter-in law of Alice Marie Pommett (nee McGurn), sister of Ruth. I loved and cherished Alice, who was a wonderful story teller. Often, she would share stories of her youth and her many brothers and sisters, whom she clearly loved and adored.
I pray that Ruth is being welcomed with open arms and a loving heart by our angel, Alice.
To Ruth's family- my condolences. May she rest in peace in the eternal glory of God, our Father.
Catherine and Tod Pommett
children- Tim (20) and Cassie (18).

Mom was one of the most amazing people I have ever known and will probably will ever meet. She spent her life caring for others, she never put herself before others. She would often go out of her way to reach those who were in need. She would also be a counselor for friends and family when the times called for it. I knew I could come to her no matter what the reason or circumstance. I loved here with all my heart, and we will truly miss her.
