Obituary of Robert N Smith

Smith Robert Norman , 82 of East Williston, New York died at home Saturday, April 30. Robert the son of Rose and Hickman Smith was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 27, 1929. He served in the U.S. Army and the attended New York University from which he received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts degree.He is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline, and son, Nicholas and daughter-in-law Susanne.He and his wife Pauline were married at St. Anne's Church in Manchester, England in July, 1959. He was a teacher of history, a subject he loved and conveyed wonderfully to his students, at Brooklyn Technical High School from which he retired in 1990. He was a lover and author of books and was heavily involved in many historical and other projects in East Williston. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an NYU alumni. He will surely be missed by all those lucky enough to have known him. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday at the Weigand Bros. FH 49 Hillside Ave Williston Park NY from 4 to 8 PM
