Amilbia was an amazing aunt for myself and my children she was always concerned about us. Always found a good excuse to reach out and remind us that she was thinking of us and loves us.
I feel at peace knowing that I had an angle in life. Thank you Tiá Amilbia.

Amilbia Patiño Bravo was born on May 11th, 1956 in Armenia, the Capital of Quindio in Colombia.
She was the oldest of 6 siblings, Blanca Lilia, Alberto, Hernando and Luz Marina and Martha Cecilia (the twins). Her mom Abigail a single mother took care of the kids. Amilbia being the oldest, helped to take care of the younger siblings. She also started work at early age. She Never complained, she was always ready to help her family. When she got paid, she would hand over the paycheck to her mom, no questions no demands, she was Just eager to contribute 100% to help out the family.
When she started her own family, she made it her life’s mission to make sure they have all the opportunities she never had. Her vision was always to maintain family together with shared values and a common interest in helping one another.
She loved to sing, whether in the morning at home, or on her way home from work or just performing housework, she loved to sing. Her mind was always full of dreams, and she never stopped dreaming.
Amilbia never gave up on others, and she was always the optimist. She never lost hope and was always positive, which helped keep her energies up, up until the very last minute.
From now on, she will forever be in our hearts and minds.

Amilbia knew me as a little girl but I only got to know her on a personal level a few years ago. I feel so fortunate to have had those years with her in my life. Amilbia was such a beautiful person. She was so creative, thoughtful, artistic, kind, patient, and poetic. I remember all the times we would talk about anything and everything, create, laugh and dream big dreams. She was my spiritual mama. Always there for me whenever I needed to talk, to introspect about life, to comfort me. She helped me so much to grow spiritually, to believe in myself, and to feel loved. She was such a selfless person, always imparting all that she knew with so much love and care. She was in unbearable pain for such a long time, but she kept on going, she had such spirit. That was our beautiful Amilbia so strong, so resilient, and so kind. Amilbia shined so bright with her love. I miss her so much already. I am so sad that she is no longer with us in her physical form, but I am doing my best to find comfort and consolation in knowing she is finally resting and watching over us. I didn’t want her to go, I wanted her to stay with us forever, but I know she is at peace now and her soul lives on and when make it to heaven, she’ll be there to receive us with open arms and her endless love. Thank you for being a part of our lives Amilbia.
