Obituary of Amilbia Patino
Please share a memory of Amilbia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Amilbia Patiño Bravo was born on May 11th, 1956 in Armenia, the Capital of Quindio in Colombia. She was the daughter of the late Abigail Bravo Cortes and Emilo Patino. Amilbia was the oldest of 6 siblings, Blanca Lilia, Alberto, Hernando, Luz Marina and Martha Cecilia (twins). Amilbia met the love of her live in Colombia and followed Jose Mainel Moreno to the United States in June 1981. Their union created three beautiful children, Jenniffer Lorena Moreno, Maynel Anderson Moreno and John Paul Moreno (Maria De Pilar Carvajal, wife). Two Grandchildren who she adored, Elijah Alexander Caballero, 8 and Noah Alexander Caballero, 6. Amilbia being the oldest, helped to take care of the younger siblings and worked at an early age as a Secretary in a clothing company in Colombia. After establishing herself in the United States, Amilbia worked hard to attain her GED where she had multiple hats, she was Lunch Aide at the local school, a Home Health Aide and Entrepreneur. These were a few titles she held to support her family. In all the roles she held, her true passion was to work with children and the elderly. Everyone who knew her understood she was passionate about moving her family forward and did everything to accomplish this goal. She was devoted to her Faith and was known to be kind-hearted, caring and always willing to spread her knowledge of faith and wisdom. She accomplished this through her optimism, strength and independence that transformed anyone who encounter her. She was appreciated and loved by all who knew her. Amilbia will be remembered for her vision of maintaining family and togetherness and kindness. She instilled values and a common interest in helping one another. She loved to sing, whether in the morning at home, or on her way home from work or just performing housework, she loved to sing. Her mind was always full of dreams, and she never stopped dreaming. One of her dreams was to start a (Being is the reason to be/ Ser es la razón de ser) Foundation to educate unprivileged children and single parents all over the world to be self sustaining individuals in small communities while developing their values and talents. Amilbia leaves to cherish in her memory, her loving children, two Grandchildren, her five brothers and sisters, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and adopted family members and friends. She will forever be in our hearts and minds.
